British Ecological Society grants to promote ecological science
Schools can apply for ecological science grants for projects that develop ecological science outreach to a broad audience.
The programme funds activities that engage public audiences in areas like:
- Communicating evidence-based messaging for what ecology is, how nature works, and the use of ecological science as a solution to local and global challenges.
- Raising awareness and public understanding of ecological careers, their relevance and importance, breadth, and diversity, and show that anybody can become an ecologist.
- Sharing how individuals can take action to benefit the environment, themselves, and society, and
- Increasing the ability of others to deliver the above aims through outreach and engagement activities.
Grants are available for projects that do this in innovative and creative ways, and must involve significant outreach beyond schools.
Projects aimed solely at delivering curriculum to schoolchildren will not be considered. The grant may be used as part-funding for larger projects involving other sponsors.
