Families facing financial hardship in the UK can obtain small grants through Family Action’s welfare grants programme.

The funding aims to alleviate financial hardship by providing small, but vital, grants for essential personal and household items. This enables individuals and families to maintain their basic living standards and independence.

All applicants must fall into one or more of the following priority areas:

  • Mental health
  • Domestic
  • Relief for women living in Greater London

Grants can cover household goods such as cookers, washing machines, fridge-freezers, beds, and bedding. Additionally, women living in Greater London can apply for up to £1,500 to take a short break or holiday to promote their wellbeing.

Eligible applicants must a suitable referring agency and supports people receiving means-tested benefits who are facing exceptional pressure or crisis.
